ZANDO implements its own graduate programme in a bid to find new talent

Published: 3 August 2012

Skills and employment are two of the economic imperatives that constrain South Africa as a country. Whilst education itself has gone through a transformation, employers need to change their approach in terms of employment and development of employees to battle against the challenges our times.

ZANDO implements its own graduate programme in a bid to find new talent
By doing this, employers can positively influence the employment of graduates and skills of graduates and at the same time harnessing their ability to innovate their new generational way of doing things into the work place.

Whatever the business, finding the right talent is critical to success. There’s an increasing pool of graduate talent to tap into and it is the responsibility of employers to source from these talent pools and therefore build the ‘skills’ base within this pool. In addition, graduates bring the flexibility, creativity, motivation and skills that a business needs to stay competitive, innovative and dynamic.

“Companies are increasingly looking to graduates to help drive their business forward and ZANDO is no different. ZANDO invests in a learning culture and fosters it by rewarding innovation. It’s a high energy, fast paced and incredibly dynamic environment and therefore invests in the employment and development of youth,” says ZANDO head of HR, Tarryn Clarke. In order to ‘dress for life’ talent needs to be nurtured and ZANDO are offering all graduate candidates the opportunity to apply for a possible future position.

“The graduate programme is one of experiential learning and demands ‘on the job’ performance. Graduates, employed by ZANDO, get exposed to a diverse workplace that is not only fast paced but best practice by nature. An opportunity is given to graduates to work with world class people, systems and processes, a network of skills and general exposure which is hard to find in South Africa,” says Clarke.

All interested graduates can apply by emailing their CV’s to careers@zando.co.za together with their academic transcripts. Applications are open immediately and all successful candidates will be notified by HR and asked to come in for an assessment interview.
