human.kind shows its heart as winter approaches

Published: 27 July 2012

The team at human.kind advertising believes corporate social responsibility needs to lie at the heart of the agency if they are to live out their business ethos: 'to act with purpose'. It is with this in mind that they leapt into action to collect blankets in the build up to the icy winter weather for NGO Noah.

The initiative was jump-started with a fund raising event at the Rivonia Barnyard theatre where friends, family, clients and suppliers got together to raise money for the cause. It was here that an heirloom blanket was auctioned for R5 000 enabling the purchase of many more blankets. Human.kind’s network was appealed to for blanket donations and soon supplies began pouring into the agency. Just short of 800 blankets were collected and presented to the Reamogetswe Noah Centre in Muldersdrift, the Noah Kliptown Ark in Soweto, and to Noah’s head office who distributed according to need.
Managing director of human.kind, Deon Kruger said, “Our motivation is simple; human.kind cares. Not just about each other and our work, but about bigger issues like the community and the environment. We’re so fortunate to be in a position to help keep families warm this winter and making a small difference in their lives is a privilege.”
