Prominent Paints restores colour to underpriviledged Soweto schools

Published: 19 June 2012

As part of a Prominent Paints’ Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiative to mark Youth Day, the paint supplier joined forces with the Cheesekids organisation to help paint and restore colour to two underprivileged schools in Soweto.

Volunteers from Johannesburg rallied together to participate in the day’s activities. Almost 500 litres of paint were donated by Prominent Paints and used to refurbish Thebedisanong and Phefeni Secondary Schools, both located on the famous Vilakazi street.

Prominent Paints PR &amp communications officer, Lynette Jackson, said: “As a company we feel strongly about being a sustainable contributor to the development of the community, and the Youth Day activities are just one small way that we can deliver on this credo. It was a privilege to work with Cheesekids to this end, as we share a common focus of incorporating community service and social consciousness into our daily lives.”
