Facebook for Bipolar Disorder

Saturday, 26 May is Bipolar Awareness Day and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) will be running a series of four online chats over three days to give South Africans enough time to have all their questions related to this mood disorder answered.

Growing in popularity and increasingly used for the expression of both positive and negative emotions, Facebook is easily accessible for many people, who are already familiar with the way Facebook chat works. Anyone with a question about bipolar disorder will be able to connect with psychiatrists and SADAG counsellors through the SADAG Facebook page (The South African Depression and Anxiety Group).

Those living with Bipolar, as well as their family, friends and loved ones, will have the opportunity to find out more about the symptoms of the disorder, how it is treated, medication, how to support someone close to them living with the condition and where they can find more information, support and clinical care.
