Drawing inspiration from her love of Thai flavours, her Liu Loren Pizza consists of a tomato base, mozzarella, Asian-marinated chicken, oven caramelised apricots and fresh thyme, with a topping of spring onion, fresh coriander and a drizzle of honey soy and orange reduction.
A strategic designer by day, Comninos still finds time to indulge her passion for cooking, tasting and experimenting with different flavours. Her cupcake hobby (‘Say It With Sugar’) allows her to express her love of creativity and baking in the custom-made speciality cupcakes she makes to surprise and delight.
25 206 Celebrity Chef Pizzas have been sold over the past 3 months – in turn R126 030 already raised for the Children’s Hospital Trust, fundraiser for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and Paediatric Healthcare in the Western Cape. R5 from the sale of every Celebrity Chef Pizza is donated to the Trust and these funds will be used to upgrade the hospital’s Medical Wards B1 and B2 which treat some of the hospital’s youngest patients with chronic illnesses.
Col’Cacchio pizzeria director, Kinga Baranowska, comments, “We encourage pizza lovers to get to their nearest Col’Cacchio pizzeria in August to try out the Liu Loren. Not only will you be tasting the flavour that made Jessica famous, but you’ll also be contributing to an extremely worthy cause.”
