Hip Hop Fashion is one such company that supports local designers and encourages job creation and development. Students wanting to enter this field are faced with extremely tight competition with many companies not wanting to take a chance on students without work experience. Hip Hop Fashion identifies the need to nurture this young talent in order to help bring stability to the clothing and textile sector.

Encouraging young designers to showcase their work, Hip Hop have launched a corporate social responsibility campaign called the Cape Town Design School final year student competition. This competition will see final year fashion students being given the opportunity to showcase their designs in order to win the opportunity to develop a ladies wear range that will be sold to Hip Hop wholesale customers as well as nationwide stores.

“The industry is going through a tough time in terms of employment however we need to remain passionate about supporting local talent and job creation.
