Edgars commits to brightening the lives of vulnerable children

As part of its 'A Time to Give' advertising campaign, Edgars committed to brightening the lives of the many previously abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children who call SOS Children’s Villages South Africa home.

The intention of the campaign was a joint initiative between Edgars and its customers to raise enough money to buy each and every child a brand new outfit.

Thanks to loyal Edgars customers shopping over the campaign period, and the donation made by Edgars, R360 690 was raised for the SOS Children’s Villages. The Edgars team handed over 1093 gift cards valued at R330 each at the SOS Children’s Village in Ennerdale on Wednesday, 11 July.

“Edgars has always been committed to helping and supporting the community, but witnessing firsthand the delight on these children’s faces has made us even more determined to find new ways of giving back,” said Belinda Godfrey, Edgars marketing executive.

SOS Children’s Villages South Africa comprises eight individual villages and takes care of 1093 children, which means that each of their young charges will now have the opportunity to visit an Edgars store near them and pick out some new clothes.
