Avis Rent-a-Car donates SA Hercules Trophy Challenge winnings to charity

In celebration of 67 minutes for Mandela Day on 18 July, Avis Rent-a-Car, amongst 48 other corporate teams, participated in the SA Hercules Trophy Challenge. After a gruelling day on the obstacle course, Avis Rent-a-Car, true to their brand promise of 'We try harder' secured not only first place but third, fifth and the trophy for Best Flying Trapeze.

The win saw the leading car rental brand walking away with R67 000, which will go towards its chosen charity, Jumping Kids. An overjoyed Johan Snyders from Jumping Kids commented that this donation will assist in making prosthesis limbs for three more children in disadvantaged communities.

Representing Avis in the CEO Challenge were executives Wayne Duvenage and Corne Langehoven, who not only made it through to the quarter finals, but also managed to put additional points onto the overall Avis team scoreboard .

The overall results for the Avis teams were as follows:

Avis Rent-a-Car Avengers – First place
Avis Rent-a-Car Victorix – Third place
Avis Rent-a-Car Spartans – Fifth place

Justin Werdmuller from the Spartans won the trophy for Best Flying Trapeze Avis Rent-a-Car Incredibles (Jumping Kids) won the Fair Game trophy for the most incredible team that did not give up.

Keith Rankin, chief executive of Avis Southern Africa would like to congratulate all the participants, cheerleaders and supporters who made the day a truly humbling experience and such a success.
