Dell does its bit for Nelson Mandela Day

Natasha Reuben, head of Transformation said; “Dell’s employee Volunteerism Programme encourages staff to invest time and skills in the projects run by our Dell Powering the Possible Beneficiaries. We are truly proud of the giving spirit demonstrated by staff this Mandela Day in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. We have already donated first aid kits to five schools in Diepsloot who desperately needed them and our staff got together to plant a vegetable garden and donate toys and clothing to the All Stars Child Welfare Centre in Kempton Park. But this is not all, on 18 July we will be renovating the South African Child Welfare Head office and our staff in Cape Town will be hosting a fun day at the St. Joseph’s Home for Chronically ill children.”

Martha Tolane, principal of the Hope Baby Care Centre says, “All of us at the Hope Baby Care Centre would like to thank Dell for the first aid kits that we received from them. This will assist our learners when they have cuts, burns, flu and fevers. It will prevent the current gap that exists for wound infections and we applaud Dell for their care and assistance in this matter, this will go a long way.”

Dell firmly believes in investing in communities to create positive transformations. “Our initiatives are aimed at providing previously disadvantaged individuals with a means of becoming economically active, focusing on activities addressing support in terms of healthy, literate and connected communities,” says Reuben

By being involved in this day, Dell would like to inspire their employees and other South Africans to take action to help make a difference. "At Dell, we believe that real transformation within Dell, South Africa and the communities which we call home, remain at the core of responsible business," concludes Reuben.
