At On the Dot 1 + 1 = 2

Published: 28 June 2012

Skills development and education are the basic pillars to build a sustainable workforce for the future and with a high demand for studies in the maths and science field On the Dot partnered with TRAC to offer learners extra guidance in this area.

TRAC South Africa is a national, non-profit programme, which aims to support science and technology education in South African secondary schools. 25 learners was chosen and participated in workshops held over a five-day period to enable and encourage learners to enter into careers in science, engineering and technology.

“The learners selected for this project come from disadvantaged communities that cannot afford extra classes but would benefit from this kind of assistance. As the On the Dot Employment Equity Forum, we realised that this workshop would help the community and give our forum the platform to equip young people with the skills they need”, said Moloto Mabatamela member of the On the Dot EE Forum.

The On the Dot EE forum members also made contact with clients and business partners and managed to source extra learning and study materials to the group.

The workshop is held from 25 June until 29 June. For more details on this exciting project, contact Moloto Mabatamela on 011 309 6948.
