Earlier this year former minister of transport, Sibusiso Ndebele, commented that, “As government, we want to make it very clear that we remain steadfast in our resolve to bring down the fatality rate on our roads. The reduction in road deaths is not just desirable; it is an urgent non-negotiable, and has become our daily mission, which has called upon world leaders to work together during this decade of action for road safety and to share solutions to this challenge.”

In line with this, Mrs Mulder was presented with a certificate of thanks from Lead SA, in partnership with the Department of Transport. A very surprised Mrs Mulder addressed the congregation with a word of thanks and said, “I always knew to do the right thing no matter what. By not driving within the rules of the road and speeding so many lives are lost, which is totally unnecessary.”
