REPUCOMM’s New Reputation Protection & Crisis Response Master Class

Published: 22 May 2008

Who: Deon Binneman of REPUCOMM

What: Join REPUCOMM for an intensive 3 day event that covers reputation risk mitigation , crisis management & crisis communication management. Meet likeminded professionals and benchmark your organization’s ability to respond to any crisis.

When: Tuesday, May 27 to 29 May, from 8:30 am- 16.30.

Where: Hotel Apollo, Randburg, Johannesburg

Why: This 3 day event replaces our Reputation Risk Management Master Class and Integrated Crisis Management Response workshops and will offer the best of both worlds including the latest international best practice thinking on reputation & crisis management.

In today’s society it is expected of leaders to be able to manage and lead organizations in crises situations (deal with the reality) as well deal with the communication challenges that these situations bring (deal with the perceptions). It is perhaps appropriate to define a Crisis Leader as someone who understands both the art and science of Crisis Response, has the competencies (knowledge, skills and attitude) to lead an organization in a time of duress and take the appropriate action under the circumstances.

These appropriate actions include doing the right things and doing things right (adherence to best practices) when it comes to crisis management & crisis communication.

There has been a number of business crises and disasters lately that illustrates the need for this training – Eskom, Nationwide, Tiger Brands, the earthquake in China and recent product recalls. This program seeks to equip leaders with relevant knowledge and skills and equip them with the relevant tools and competencies.

Upon completion of this programme, participants will be able to:

- Apply a systematic approach to identify and manage their organisation’s exposure to crises and potential reputation risk
- Be able to use a proven framework for developing and implementing an effective Crisis Management Response program in their own organizations; and
- Provide Crisis Leadership when such an event occurs.
